Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers

As a national organization, SHPE changes lives by empowering the Hispanic community to realize its fullest potential and to impact the world through STEM awareness, access, support and development. As a chapter at UGA, our mission is to promote and encourage the study and understanding of STEM fields among Hispanic and minority students and increase the number and improve the retention of Hispanic and minority  students in engineering and other STEM fields at the University of Georgia.  As a student organization, we hope to provide a forum for Hispanic and minority  students in engineering and STEM fields to exchange information pertinent to their education and the University of Georgia. We hope to be a starting point for students to establish relationships with industry representatives to advance and promote the hiring of Hispanic and minority engineering and STEM field graduates.
