This interactive brown bag session is designed to ignite conversation between engineering undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff about how we can collectively work together to promote student success. We will: (1) explore the idea of deficit thinking that is “baked in” to engineering education (2) learn about asset-based frameworks such as community cultural wealth (3) think about how we can begin to transform our educational systems through asset-based thinking and a focus on institutional change. Come ready to participate!
