Graduate Students
Focusing on the University's renowned strength and diversity in the fields of biology, ecology and agriculture, students may pursue Environmental Engineering, or Biochemical Engineering, Biological Engineering or Agricultural Engineering degrees at the Masters of Science level or the Doctor of Philosophy level. The goal of these degrees is to provide fundamental knowledge in the engineering and biological sciences while building the student's professional confidence. Our programs provide opportunities to increase proficiency in mathematics, advanced computational methods, instrumentation and statistics. Our programs provide in-depth specialization and provide additional design experience in a chosen engineering or engineering/biological specialty area. Research/Teaching assistantships are available typically at 40% level with tuition waivers on a competitive basis. Research areas include Biochemical, Biomedical, Nanotechnology applications, Environmental, Ag & Natural Resources, and Computer Systems, and Sensors and Instrumentation applications. The duties of the assistantship vary with student background but typically involve a mixture of laboratory, field and some teaching-related duties.
