For applicants from non-English speaking countries, the TOEFL test is required, and the speaking and writing scores must equal or exceed 20 in each of these components. The total TOEFL score must equal or exceed 80. These represent Graduate School requirements.

The CENGR program is geared for Fall admission. Admission to spring or summer semesters is possible, particularly if project funding is available and project work can be initiated.
Applicants who wish to be considered for the Graduate School assistantship competition must be admitted as prospective degree candidates by February 15. Therefore, all general application admission materials must be received in the Office of Graduate Admissions by January 1st.
