Kisaalita will receive the award during the Annual International Conference on Africa and Its Diaspora (AICAID 2015). The conference will be held Nov. 11 – 13 at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education.

“I am quite delighted that Dr. Kisaalita is the recipient of the award this year,” said Akinloye Ojo, Director of ASI. “It is a fitting recognition of his numerous contributions over the last several years to the development of the institute and the study of Africa at the University.”

The Lioba Moshi Award for Service in African Studies, named after ASI’s longest serving director, was established in 2012. The award recognizes the efforts of a faculty member affiliated with ASI who has “provided steadfast service to the field of African Studies at the University of Georgia.”
