The University of Georgia College of Engineering will host a special tailgate celebration for alumni, friends and prospective students April 11 when Bulldog fans gather on campus for the annual G-Day spring football game. “E-Day on G-Day” will feature tours of the college, a showcase of student and faculty research, an update on the college’s progress, and a fiesta-themed tailgate party.
“E-Day on G-Day is a great opportunity for the College of Engineering to reconnect with our alumni and get to know some of the students who will be joining us in the fall,” said Dean Donald Leo. “The event also gives our students and faculty a chance to showcase their research and highlight the excellent work that’s happening each day in our classrooms and labs.”
E-Day on G-Day activities include:
- 10 – 11 a.m., coffee and an update on the accomplishments of UGA’s fastest-growing college with Dean Leo in the lobby of the Paul D. Coverdell Center.
- 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., interactive tours, a showcase of student and faculty research, activities for children, and a tailgate party at the Driftmier Engineering Center. Popular Athens restaurant Sr. Sol is catering the event.
Kickoff for the 2015 G-Day game is set for 2 p.m. in Sanford Stadium. The stadium is about one mile from the UGA College of Engineering.
All E-Day on G-Day events are free, but those planning to attend should RSVP to gail.uga.edu/eday15 or 706-542-2289 by April 6.

Since gaining college status in 2012, the College of Engineering at UGA has seen its enrollment double to more than 1,200 students. The college offers eight undergraduate degrees and seven graduate degrees. In addition, UGA is the only university in the state offering programs in agricultural engineering, biochemical engineering and biological engineering.
