Our department does offer financial aid. There is an application process that we conduct to select which students will be offered financial aid. Our department has a departmental application form, also available
on-line.
Of the students who complete their application file we generally are able to admit about 50% - 75%. Admissions is a function of application quality and funds availability.
Of the students that our department accepts that have applied for financial aid we are generally able to offer assistantships to about, 85% - 90%.
Our department generally only accepts applicants every Fall Semester. Under special cases we may accept a student for Spring Semester. Our department does this due to the class schedule and other conflicts.
The events of 9/11 add manageable layers of complication. Visa issues have become very important. Contact the UGA
Graduate School for additional tips on scheduling and handling the visa interview. Proper visa type is essential.
