Steven Scarboro

Power Delivery Safety Manager, Georgia Power

Steven Scarboro was selected as Power Delivery Safety Manager, effective September 8th, 2018.  In this role, Steven is responsible for overseeing and supporting all aspects of Safety, Health, ad Wellbeing within the Power Delivery business unit for Georgia Power. 

A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Steven joined Georgia Power in 2004 as a co-op student.  After receiving a bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering from the University of Georgia, he began his full-time career with the company as an engineer in Distribution.  Throughout his career with Southern Company, he has held various leadership positions of increasing responsibility in Distribution, Geographic Solutions and Services, and Power Delivery. 

Prior to his current position, Steven served as the assistant to the Senior Vice President of Power Delivery since 2017.  Steven completed his master’s in business administration from Mercer University in 2013.  He is active in the community, serving in several Citizens of Georgia Power Chapter leadership positions over his career and is a graduate of Leadership Habersham.  Steven is passionate about education and continues to support the University of Georgia College of Engineering through partnerships in senior design cap stone projects, Southern Company recruiting efforts, and serving on the Electrical Engineering Advisory Board during years of accreditation.
