2013-2014 College of Engineering Student Ambassadors Selected
The Student Ambassadors are current undergraduate students in the College of Engineering who participate in recruitment, outreach, and College-wide activities. Student Ambassadors have opportunities to network with UGA Alumni, employers, and faculty and staff across campus while enhancing professional development skills and leadership abilities.
Student Ambassadors are selected during the spring semester, and are both academically excellent and involved in campus-wide activities. These students are enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the College and its programs, have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, and are committed to professionally representing UGA Engineering on campus and throughout the community and the state.
Eligibility is open to students who:
1) are enrolled in the College of Engineering on campus during the full academic year
2) have completed at least one semester of undergraduate work and
3) have an overall GPA not less than 2.7. Each Engineering Ambassador must be an effective public speaker, professional in appearance and attitude and capable of maintaining her/his academic standing while fulfilling the responsibilities of the Ambassador program.
Student Ambassadors are required to:
(1) Demonstrate an active membership as defined by but not limited to the following
(a) Attendance at regularly scheduled meetings of the Engineering Ambassador program participants
(b) Active participation in required events
(c) Active participation in at least four other events (e.g. New Dawgs, Explore UGA, Career Fair)
(d) Monitoring his/her UGA MyID email account daily for news and events and responding to requests in a timely manner.
